Privacy policy
This policy explains what HomeStation collects, why, where it is stored, and what rights you have over it. It is written to meet our obligations under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and buyer type.
- Property details you enter: addresses, prices, notes and dates.
- Documents you upload: LIM reports, builder's reports, titles and similar.
- Basic usage data: which pages you visited, so we can fix what's broken.
Where it is stored
Your account data and documents are stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted in Sydney, Australia (ap-southeast-2). Documents are readable only by your own account.
Document processing
When you upload a document, its text is sent to Anthropic's API to produce the plain English summary. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models. The original file stays in your account and is not shared with anyone else.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not pass your details to agents, brokers or lenders without you asking.
- We do not show advertising.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its contents. Email hello@homestation.co.nz and we will action it within 20 working days.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first. If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
