Provider Directory Policy
Version 1.0 · Updated 23 August 2026
The provider directory is not currently available. This policy sets out how it will work when it launches, and is published in advance so that professionals who may be listed can read it, object, or opt out before anything goes live.
This policy explains how the HomeStation provider directory works — for buyers using it and for professionals listed in it. Contact: hello@homestation.co.nz.
1. What the directory is
A directory of New Zealand property professionals (initially lawyers and conveyancers, building inspectors, and valuers) to help buyers find help at the right moment in their journey. It is a starting point for a buyer’s own research — a listing is not an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee.
2. How firms are listed
Basic listings are compiled in good faith from publicly available information — a firm’s own website and public professional registers — and include the firm’s name, a neutral description, service regions, and public contact details. Basic listings are free and do not require the firm’s involvement.
Claimed listings. A firm may claim its listing at no cost. To prevent impersonation, we verify claims — for example, by requiring an email address at the firm’s own domain, or by confirming via the firm’s publicly listed phone number. A claimed listing can update its details and receive connection requests from buyers.
Verified and Featured listings are paid placements, available only to claimed listings, and are always clearly labelled in the directory. Featured placement is limited per category and region.
3. Our neutrality commitment
Providers can pay for placement, and paid placement is always clearly marked. Payment never changes the substance of HomeStation’s guidance. Our journey content never names or favours a paying provider, and we do not accept payment to alter educational content. We do not publish ratings or reviews we cannot verify, and we do not fabricate testimonials.
4. Accuracy and corrections
We take reasonable care to keep listings accurate, but details change. If any information in a listing is wrong, tell us at hello@homestation.co.nz and we will correct it within 2 business days.
5. Removal (opt-out)
Any firm may have its basic listing removed at any time, for any reason, by emailing hello@homestation.co.nz from a verifiable address. We remove listings within 2 business days of a verified request, no questions asked.
6. For buyers
Do your own due diligence before engaging any professional: confirm their current registration with the relevant body (for example the NZ Law Society, the Valuers Registration Board, or the Financial Service Providers Register), confirm pricing directly, and satisfy yourself they are right for your situation. Your contact details are shared with a provider only when you explicitly send a connection request.
7. For mortgage advisers and insurers
We do not list individual mortgage advisers or insurers without an opt-in relationship, because financial advice is a regulated service. Buyers are directed to the Financial Advice New Zealand directory instead. Advisers interested in joining a future opt-in programme can contact us.
8. Complaints
Complaints about the directory itself go to hello@homestation.co.nz and are answered within 5 business days. Complaints about a provider’s services should go to the provider and, if unresolved, to their professional body.
